And the Salkinds managed to get Marlon Brandon again (as had done for 'Superman')! And not to be missed - a long-haired Tom Selleck as King Ferdinand of Spain!

'Exorcist III' is good as it was written by William Blatty, so it properly ties-in with the first movie, unlike 'Exorcist II' which is wretchedly bad, but laughably entertaining.

You might want to check out the two prequels (the first is superior) and the interesting background behind them. The first was rejected by studio heads and had to - ridiculously - be filmed again).

Great review! Would love to hear your thoughts on (the godawful) 'Christopher Columbus: The Discovery' and the upcoming 'The Exorcist: Believer'.

Thanks! I was reading about "Christopher Columbus: The Discovery" and it sounds like a truly bad movie, of the kind that can be entertaining to tear apart.

I didn't have any interest in the new Exorcist movie, but might check it out based on your comment. The Criterion Channel recently added Exorcist III, which I hear is the best of the sequels (and certainly better than Exorcist II, which I reviewed last October and which more than lived up to its reputations as one of the worst films ever).
